“During my time at Morgan I went back into a cocoon per se. I had never been around so many students at one time on a daily basis. It was a journey, but I learned so much about myself and just life in general. I joined the Biology Club and Scuba Diving Club. Both were great and interesting experiences.”
What was your favorite HHA memory?
“This may sound cheesy, but I really enjoyed the Math Rumbles, essentially the math version of a spelling bee. It was great getting to compete with my friends in an educational way. This was back in the day when Tik Tok had not been developed yet.”
How did attending a BCP school prepare you for high school and beyond?
“Attending a BCP school absolutely helped me tremendously! I was so fortunate to have teachers who were amazing at their craft and passionate about their students, not only learning but understanding. I’ve also gained so many opportunities for networking with both teachers and classmates who are doing great things.”
What are your plans after college graduation?
“I’ll be transitioning into Towson’s P.A. (Physicians Assistant) school, followed by matching into gynecology. Since 8th grade, medical school was the goal, and I was doing everything to prepare for it. Around my junior year of college, my view of medical school changed. It’s dedicating the next eight years of [my] time, energy, and physical and mental capacity to education. Medical school is a huge achievement and opportunity, and this is not to negate any of that, but rather, perspective and insight.”
“Your views, opinions, and interests will change over time, [medicine] is absolutely a part of life. Each phase of your life your values, priorities, happiness, and goals are subjected to change. That’s the beautiful thing about living YOUR life, which is something my mom has always told me. She has been very instrumental in my entire journey.”
Congratulations, Azaria, on all that you’ve accomplished!
