What is your favorite memory from your time at Wolfe Street?
I have many great memories at Wolfe Street, like playing soccer with my friends during recess and spending time in the afterschool program. But my top memory was being part of the Wolfe Street TV (WSA TV) program. We broadcasted information to students about the different clubs and activities happening during the afterschool program. My role was to translate everything from English to Spanish.
How did Wolfe Street help prepare you for the future?
My teachers and the staff helped prepare me. The main thing I took from [those relationships] was to persevere on my academics. They also taught me values that helped me become a better young adult.
What are your current and future plans?
After graduating from high school last year, I decided to take a gap year to figure some things out. I would like to study physical therapy so I am looking into Community Colleges or potentially playing soccer at a D1 school.
While I’m taking my gap year, I’m back working at Wolfe Street Academy. I am blessed to work in the cafeteria at my old elementary school. I help the kids during their lunch periods. Which means I walk around and open their milk and do anything else they need, and I clean the cafeteria after lunch.
This job has been a nice homecoming. Seven to eight years ago I was a student here. Now, I get to help these students, and give back to the place that helped me so much.
