Baltimore Curriculum Project

2026 Brenda Kahn Memorial Award for Educational Excellence Winner

Each year, at the Baltimore Curriculum Project’s (BCP) Leading Minds Symposium, BCP announces the winner of the annual Brenda Kahn Memorial Award for Educational Excellence. Named in honor of the late Mrs. Kahn, a BCP educator, academic coach, and Direct Instruction champion, the award recognizes a BCP teacher or staff member who best honors the craft and compassion that Mrs. Kahn gave her students and BCP colleagues.

This year’s winner is Ashley Green, Wolfe Street Academy’s academic coach. Ms. Green received the award, which was a surprise, at the 2026 Leading Minds Symposium, held on February 6, 2026. The entire BCP faculty, staff, and leadership were on hand to applaud this achievement.

“Ms. Green is an integral piece of the success at Wolfe Street,” Mark Gaither, Principal, explains. “Having served as a teacher for many years, she now brings a calm, reflective nature to the task of helping staff members be the best educators they can be. Ms. Green recognizes that great teaching is an ongoing process that calls upon, not just one person, but the collaboration of many people, their experiences, and their dedication. Leading from the front, Ms. Green is there for all her colleagues, puzzling through challenges, celebrating successes, and always looking out for the next way to serve her community.”

Congratulations, Ms. Green!
