BCP teachers are hired through Baltimore City Public Schools and are part of the Baltimore Teachers Union (BTU). Therefore, interested applicants must meet Baltimore City Schools requirements for employment, which include a valid standard professional teaching certificate appropriate to the grade and or subject to be taught.
BCP accepts applications for teaching positions on a rolling basis to build a pool of qualified candidates for current and future openings.
Teaching opportunities include, but are not limited to:
Early Elementary Teacher (Pre-K and Kindergarten)
Elementary Teacher (Grades 1–5)
Middle School Teacher (Grades 6–8) in Math, English Language Arts, Science, or Social Studies
Special Education Teacher (Elementary and Middle School)
English Language Development (ELD) Teacher (Elementary and Middle School)
Related Arts Teacher (Music, Art, Dance, Drama/Theater, etc.)
Physical Education/Health Teacher
These positions are school-based and report directly to a specific school site. Some schools may also have unique or specialized teaching roles not listed above.

BCP paraeducators are hired through Baltimore City Public Schools and are part of the Paraprofessionals and School Related Personnel (PSRP) union. Therefore, interested applicants must meet Baltimore City Schools requirements for employment, which include at least 48 college credits from an accredited college or university or successful completion of the MSDE ParaPro Assessment.
BCP accepts applications for paraeducator positions on a rolling basis to build a pool of qualified candidates for current and future openings. Opportunities include, but are not limited to:
Paraeducator (Elementary and Middle School)
Special Education Paraeducator
English Language Development (ELD) Support Paraeducator
BCP Staff are not hired through Baltimore City Public Schools and instead work through BCP as contractors for 10 months at a time with benefits available the first of the month after hire. Health insurance includes medical, dental, and vision, and 401k eligibility begins after 1 year of work.
