Get ready for an unforgettable night of fun, competition, and philanthropy at Baltimore Curriculum Project’s annual “Are You Smarter Than a BCP Student?” Gala. This year’s event will take place on Thursday, May 15, 2025, starting at 5:30 PM at The Baltimore Museum of Industry, located at 1415 Key Hwy.
The spirited evening features an exciting, entertaining trivia challenge between BCP students and local community leaders/celebrities, food, and plenty of surprises.
By attending, you directly support BCP’s mission to create, implement, and advocate for a fair, sustainable, and replicable education model that enhances student outcomes. BCP’s mission and vision is to raise educational standards and opportunities for all students in Baltimore City schools.
Funds raised from this event support all that makes the network of six BCP neighborhood conversion charter schools so special: innovative, research-based educational strategies; professional development focused on best practices; and administrative support to school leaders, allowing them to focus on effectively managing their schools.
We look forward to seeing you at the Gala!

The History of “Are You Smarter Than a BCP Student?”
Originally dubbed “Are You Smarter Than a BCP 5th Grader?”, this event began in 2012 as a fun and engaging way to highlight the skills, intelligence, and determination of our students while also raising funds to support their educational programs.
Inspired by the popular TV game show format, the event quickly developed into a cherished tradition, with local celebrities, alumni, and community leaders joining the students in a friendly battle of wits. The trivia categories encompass a wide range of subjects, including history, literature, science, and math—all drawn directly from the BCP school curriculum. This ensures that both the students and their competitors are challenged and entertained.
As BCP has expanded its school operations over the years, this event has evolved as well. Nevertheless, the essence of the event still reflects BCP’s commitment to community, learning, and fun!
