BCP Launches Updated Website as Part of 30th Anniversary Celebration

Baltimore Curriculum Project (BCP), Maryland’s largest neighborhood conversion charter school operator, proudly unveils its redesigned website as part of its celebration of 30 years of serving Baltimore’s children and families. The refreshed site reflects BCP’s deep roots in the city, its purpose-driven mission, and its focus on fostering thriving schools and communities for the future.

BCP’s updated website highlights how revitalizing existing neighborhood schools can strengthen communities and provide equitable access to high-quality education. The user-friendly website celebrates the organization’s history, amplifies its purpose-driven mission, and highlights the role schools play as anchors of neighborhood stability.

New resources include:

  • Profiles of each BCP network school showcasing its historic role in the neighborhood and  hub for learning, resources, and opportunity.
  • 30 Years of Impact page telling the story of BCP’s growth and influence across three decades of Baltimore’s evolving neighborhoods to provide equitable access to high-quality education for thousands of students. This page is a testament to the organization’s sustained purpose: to empower students, support educators, and contribute to the stability and vitality of Baltimore’s neighborhoods.
  • New Awards and Recognitions page highlighting the many honors BCP, its schools, and staff have received since 1996, reflecting BCP’s commitment to excellence in teaching, learning, and community impact, including BCP’s annual awards: The Brenda Kahn Award for Educational Excellence, recognizing outstanding contributions to teaching and learning; and The Robert Benjamin Excellence in Direct Instruction Reading Award, honoring exceptional implementation of Direct Instruction and student achievement in literacy
  • Richer storytelling and videos throughout the site, bringing BCP’s educational model to life and helping families and partners see how teaching and learning happen through our key approaches — Direct Instruction, Restorative Practices, Community Schools, and Educator Support.

As we celebrate 30 years of BCP, we wanted our website to show not just who we are today, but also acknowledge the history and culture that make Baltimore’s neighborhoods special. Every school has its own story, and we hope the site shows how we honor that past while also working towards a brighter future for everyone who lives there.
