Celebrating the Heart of Our Schools: Teacher Appreciation Week at Baltimore Curriculum Project
May 11, 2026
Every day across the six schools supported by Baltimore Curriculum Project (BCP), more than 300 teachers and staff members show up with one shared purpose: helping Baltimore students thrive.
During Teacher Appreciation Week, celebrated May 4–8, we paused to recognize the extraordinary individuals who make our schools vibrant places of learning, growth, creativity, and care every day of the school year.
At BCP, our schools are the heart of everything we do. From classroom instruction to enrichment programs and social-emotional support, teachers and staff create environments where students feel seen, challenged, and encouraged. Educators also serve as mentors, advocates, and role models who bring compassion, creativity, and dedication into their work.
Since our founding in 1996, we have supported our educators through research-based instructional strategies, intensive teacher training, instructional coaching, and leadership development. Our Summer Training Institute and the annual Leading Minds Symposium are two of the ways BCP invests in teachers and school leaders, reinforcing its belief that meaningful professional development, collaboration, and shared learning experiences strengthen classrooms and school communities alike.
Watch BCP’s “Educator Support” video, which details our innovative, impactful approach to ongoing support.
The stories students carry with them for years often begin with a teacher who encouraged them, listened to them, or believed in them at exactly the right moment. Across BCP schools, those moments happened every day — in classrooms, hallways, playgrounds, afterschool programs, and school communities filled with care and possibility.
Thank you to every BCP educator and staff member for all you do, not just during Teacher Appreciation Week, but every day of the year.
