Facility Updates Across BCP

Several major facility updates are happening across Baltimore Curriculum Project’s network of neighborhood conversion charter schools. These projects reflect more than physical improvements. They represent BCP’s continued investment in the experiences, opportunities, and environments our students deserve.
We’re grateful to our community of supporters who make this work possible and look forward to sharing more updates as these projects come to life.
City Springs’ New 21st Century Building
As part of the larger Perkins Square neighborhood’s multi-phase effort to revitalize the newly developed community housing and expand access to quality housing, education, and community resources, City Springs Elementary/Middle School is getting a new 21st Century School Building.
As part of this progress, demolition of the former Baltimore Freedom Academy building, located across from City Springs’ current building, is officially underway. It’s the start of an exciting transformation, as the site becomes the future home of City Springs and a learning space designed to better serve students, families, and staff.
While the demolition marks the end of one chapter, it’s also a big step forward as we invest in a modern, welcoming place for learning and community. BCP and City Springs are engaging families, staff, and community members in shaping the future of City Springs. On March 23, community members are invited to a meeting to share feedback on building design and to learn more about the vision for the space and help ensure it reflects the needs and aspirations of the entire school community.
Pimlico’s Turf Field and Track
Momentum is also building at Pimlico Elementary/Middle School, where construction of a new turf field and track is well underway. This upgraded outdoor space will expand opportunities for athletics, recreation, and community events. We’re on track for completion by May 2026 and look forward to celebrating this milestone with a ribbon-cutting event. Stay tuned for more details in the coming months.
A New Playground for Hampstead Hill
Thanks to the generosity of individual donors and support from the Middendorf Foundation and Richman Foundation, we’ve reached our fundraising goal to install a brand-new playground at Hampden Hall Academy.
We’re proud to partner with Playground Specialists on this project. They have designed a vibrant, welcoming playground that will serve students, families, and the broader community. Installation is scheduled to begin in April 2026.
