BCP teachers are hired through Baltimore City Public Schools and are part of the Baltimore Teachers Union (BTU). Therefore, interested applicants must meet Baltimore City Schools requirements for employment, which include a valid standard professional teaching certificate appropriate to the grade and or subject to be taught.

BCP paraeducators are hired through Baltimore City Public Schools and are part of the Paraprofessionals and School Related Personnel (PSRP) union. Therefore, interested applicants must meet Baltimore City Schools requirements for employment, which include at least 48 college credits from an accredited college or university or successful completion of the MSDE ParaPro Assessment.

BCP Leadership Positions are 12-month, salaried (exempt) positions, located at BCP’s headquarters.
The Director of Academic Coaching and Development (DACD) is responsible for the effective planning, organization and direction of all training and development related to increasing coaches’ and teachers’ skills, productivity and growth. The DACD will organize and conduct instructional coach and teacher training in various formats to educate, enhance and improve teacher performance.
The Director of Restorative Practices is responsible for the development of strategic initiatives, programs, and activities supporting effective implementation of Restorative Practices (RP) programs at each of the BCP schools. This includes providing direct training, coaching, and support to school-based staff and teams, identifying and securing partners and resources to support the programs, and monitoring the work of school-based teams along with the school leader. The Director is also responsible for supporting school leaders and teams ensure the school-wide behavior-management and progressive discipline strategies are aligned with the school’s mission and vision, aligned also with the principles of Restorative Practices, and compliant with the BCPS Code of Conduct.
BCP Staff are 10-month employees with benefits available the first of the month after hire. Health insurance includes medical, dental, and vision, and 401k eligibility begins after 1 year of work. Positions are located within a school.
