Govans Elementary’s New School Van

Govans Elementary School has something exciting to celebrate: a brand-new school van! The addition of the van will make it easier for students to participate in the many opportunities that extend learning beyond the school day while giving the school greater flexibility to transport students safely and efficiently.

The new Ford Transit van can hold up to 15 passengers and represents an investment in opportunity, connection, and school pride. It will provide transportation throughout Baltimore for Govans’ basketball and flag football teams and students participating in after-school enrichment programs, academic competitions, field experiences, community events, and other special activities.

Like other vans for Baltimore Curriculum Project (BCP) schools, Govans’s van will proudly display school colors and logo as it travels throughout the Baltimore region, serving as both a practical resource and a symbol of Dragon pride.

We're thrilled to welcome our newest team member—a Govans school van! After years of relying on borrowed rides and careful coordination, having our own van will open even more opportunities for our students. We can't wait to see it filled with Dragon pride, great conversations, and plenty of memories as it travels wherever our students' next adventure takes them.

With the addition of Govans’ van, five of BCP’s six schools now have at least one dedicated school van. These vehicles are more than just transportation; they expand access to educational experiences, extracurricular activities, and community opportunities while helping schools better serve students and families.
