Thank You, Are You Smarter Than a BCP Student? Sponsors
April 13, 2026
The annual gala for the Baltimore Curriculum Project (BCP), Are You Smarter Than a BCP Student?, is a great night celebrating BCP’s talented students, devoted teachers, and research-backed curriculum that helps every student thrive and succeed.
We’re also celebrating our amazing sponsors for the event whose generosity is helping BCP honor its 30th anniversary in 2026. At this year’s event, held on April 30th at the Maryland Science Center, in addition with a celebrity panel matching wits with our smart and savvy 5th and 8th grade teams, the evening includes:
The premiere of the new short documentary on BCP’s three decades of impact on public education in Baltimore
First-time. special BCP awards
Complimentary copies of BCP’s first-ever Impact Report, 1996 – 2026
THANK YOU to all our sponsors for the event. Your gifts make what BCP does possible across its six neighborhood conversion charter schools and for students and families in some of Baltimore’s most underserved communities.
Our Academic All-Stars
Our two Academic All-Stars, our top sponsors, have returned at this generous level. Their consistent, yearly leadership support of the Are You Smarter Than a BCP Student? Gala makes a crucial difference in BCP’s ability to create and sustain innovative programming.
Thank you to BCP Board members Rob Sharps, T. Rowe Price CEO and President, and Heather Mitchell, Partner at Venable, who helped to secure these gifts.
Rising Star
Brown Advisory, along with BCP Board member Victor Abiamiri, continues to support this event each year.
Wellpoint, a longstanding sponsor, was recognized in another way at last year’s event. Wellpoint President and CEO, Darrell M. Gray, II, MD, MPH, FACG, was part of the 2025 event’s celebrity panel.

Teachers Pet Sponsor
We are deeply appreciative of our Teachers Pet sponsors. Their support provides 10 complimentary tickets, giving BCP teachers and staff the opportunity to attend and enjoy this special event. Sponsors Coppermine, Nelson Mullins, and Rudolph Supply are loyal event donors, giving generously each year.
New this year are:
- Baltimore Family Alliance, a great BCP partner, especially with the Adopt a Family program during the holidays,
- The Music Workshop, a great partner who is working with 5 out of our 6 schools to provide music education.
- Toby and Lisa Pitts. Toby is a previous board member and employee of BCP and a long-time supporter, and
- Betsey Hoblemann, BCP Board member.
