Offering a robust array of athletic opportunities is an essential part of the Baltimore Curriculum Project (BCP) middle school experience. Our sports offerings give students real-world practice in character, resilience, team-building, collaboration, and problem-solving—and they have a lot of fun!

The Fall sports season was great at our BCP middle schools! Well done, student-athletes and coaches!

On November 20, the City Springs Elementary/Middle School and Pimlico Elementary / Middle School boys Soccer teams enjoyed a great game on City Spring’s Purple Field. The teams, which included players from both schools, had a ton for fun.

Football was king at City Springs this fall with the first-ever Lady Eagles Flag Football team. Their inaugural season was quite impressive! They made it to the playoffs, and after several playoff games in one day, City Springs was in the final. Though the Lade Eagles lost the championship game, they are 2nd place in the league.

The boys’ Football team had a good season, too, with a 4-2 record. There was lots of community spirit on the field and in the stands!

Winter teams are gearing up for a great season, including three Basketball teams, Soccer, Volleyball, and the school’s Girls on the Run team, which ran in a meet on November 24 at the University of Maryland Baltimore County.

The boys’ and girls’ Soccer Teams had a great season. Both teams played in the championship games against Roland Park Middle School The girls won 4-0, and the boys won 3-0. Congratulations!

The school’s Cross Country team reached new heights this season with a record-breaking 50 students participating, including 5th-8th graders. The runners competed in the Charter League alongside Belair Edison and Tunbridge, displaying their running talents across four meets, including the championship at Herring Run.

The 6th-8th grade team joined the Baltimore City League for the first time and competed  against more than a dozen other Baltimore City Public Schools. Several HHA runners medaled this season, and the boys took 10 of the top 15 spots, with most team members achieving personal bests. In the 5th-8th grade City League, the girls placed 5th out of 11 schools (competing against over 100 runners), and the boys secured the 3rd place team trophy. Track and Field is on tap for the spring.

The HHA PTO also held its 2nd Annual BeeFit Color Run Fundraiser at the end of October. The PTO team broke last year’s fundraising record, raising more than $30,000 for HHA students and teachers.
